ACOP Survival Guide Workshop with Nan McKay & Associates

The ACOP is a foundational document for your housing authority and it governs what you can and can’t do. With the many recent changes at HUD, does your ACOP allow you to take advantage of these updates? Does your ACOP include the program efficiencies permitted under HOTMA? Is your ACOP ready to help you reposition now or in the future? Join us for a two day workshop with the national experts at Nan Mckay and get your ACOP up to date. The workshop will provide:

    • an introduction to elements of an ACOP model plan,
    • an overview of requirements for each section of the plan,
    • highlight areas for local control, and
    • help you pinpoint needed changes to your ACOP so you are ready to adopt the plan once you return to your office.

Participants are encouraged to bring their agency’s ACOP so they can ask questions and receive on-the-spot assistance from the NMA consultant during the session. Advance registration is required.

Registration fee includes the full conference with the following meals (Wednesday lunch, Wednesday dinner, Thursday Lunch and Friday breakfast buffet).

Advanced registration required. In the event we do not reach the minimum number of registrants, Minnesota NAHRO may be required to cancel the training.  Registrants will be notified in advance and receive a full refund.

NAHRO’s Commissioners’ Guide to Monitoring & Oversight is a timely training for new and seasoned Commissioners of Housing Authorities. This seminar will enhance a Commissioner knowledge and deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities in assuring their agency’s viability and health. This program is appropriate for board chairs and other commissioners, and for executive leaders and staff members.

As a member of an agency board, monitoring to assure the responsible administration of board-approved policies governing programs requires information from both business and social perspectives. This program will address the business elements relative to agency program operations. It provides a survey of typical housing and community development and redevelopment programs to meet community needs.

The program offers a perspective on the importance of commissioners’ involvement in strategic planning, and the benefits of this activity in shaping the future of the agency in meeting the unique needs of their community.

In addition, the financial viability of the agency overall is addressed and linked to operational and program requirements for continued viability.

Registration fee includes the full conference (Wednesday to Friday) with the following meals included: Wednesday lunch & dinner, Thursday Lunch and Friday breakfast buffet.

Advanced registration required. In the event we do not reach the minimum number of registrants, Minnesota NAHRO may be required to cancel the training.  Registrants will be notified in advance and receive a full refund.
